WelcomeThe Guyana Legal Aid Clinic provides free or subsidised legal advice and representation to people who cannot afford to pay for an attorney. We also refer people who need non-legal help to agencies that can assist them. The Clinic now has four offices, all of which are open from 8.00 to 12.00 hrs and 13.00 to 16.00 hrs Monday to Friday. The Georgetown office is located at First Floor, Eastern Section, Maraj Building, Lot 185 Charlotte and King Streets, Georgetown New applicants for legal aid are taken on a drop-in basis from 8:30 to 11.30 hrs any weekday and from 13:15 to 14:30 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Priority is given to urgent matters and to people who have come from out of Georgetown. The Essequibo office is located in the RDC Compound at Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast (tel: 771 4007, 4008). The West Coast Berbice office is located in the RDC Compound, Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice (tel: 232 0952, 0953). The East Berbice/Corentyne office is located in the RDC Compound, Vryman's Erven, New Amsterdam, Berbice (tel: 333 5254). 9455 reads
